Frequently Asked Questions
T&T Cleaning & Restoration FAQs
General and Emergency Response
Do you provide 24/7 restoration services in Tucson, AZ?
Yes. A real person answers our phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our crews respond to water, fire, mold, and sewage emergencies around the clock.
How quickly can your team respond to emergencies?
We guarantee a response within one hour of your call. Our crews dispatch from our headquarters at 420 E Columbia St in Tucson, day or night.
What types of property damage do you handle?
We restore homes and businesses after water damage, fire and smoke damage, mold growth, sewage backups, and biohazard incidents, and we provide emergency board-ups and roof tarping. We also make the repairs, so you don’t need a separate contractor.
What causes property damage in Tucson, AZ?
Monsoon storms bring flooding, wind, and hail damage. Slab leaks, burst pipes, and failed water heaters cause water damage, and moisture that never fully dries leads to mold. Cooking, electrical problems, and dryer lint are common sources of house fires.
Do you work with insurance companies for restoration claims?
Yes. One T&T coordinator documents the damage, works directly with your insurance company, and advocates for you, not the insurer, throughout the claim.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Tucson and Southern Arizona, from Oracle and Marana down the I-19 corridor to Green Valley and Rio Rico, and east along I-10 to Vail, Benson, Sierra Vista, and the rest of Cochise County.
Are you licensed and certified?
Yes. We’re licensed, bonded, and insured under AZ ROC #359263. Our technicians are IICRC-certified, and we hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Estimates are free, and we go over the scope of work and pricing with you before any work begins.
Water Damage Restoration
What should I do immediately after water damage occurs?
Shut off the water source if you can, and stay away from anything electrical near the water. Then call us right away, because the longer water sits, the more damage it causes.
How quickly should water damage be addressed?
It should be addressed right away. Moisture left in walls and floors creates the conditions mold needs to grow, wet electrical components can short-circuit, and repair costs climb the longer the water sits.
What does the water damage restoration process include?
Our water damage restoration process covers emergency response and inspection, water extraction with industrial-grade pumps, structural drying and dehumidification, sanitization and odor removal, mold inspection and remediation, and final repairs.
Can water damage affect the structure of my home?
Yes. Water soaks into drywall, flooring, and framing and weakens them over time. That’s why we check moisture levels every day and don’t start repairs until the structure is fully dry.
Fire & Smoke Damage
What should I do immediately after fire damage occurs?
Get out, stay out, and call 911. Don’t go back inside until the fire department says it’s safe. Once the property is released, contact your insurance company and call us to start the cleanup.
How quickly should fire damage restoration begin?
Restoration should begin as soon as possible. The longer smoke, soot, and firefighting water sit, the harder and more expensive the cleanup becomes.
What does fire damage restoration include?
Our fire and smoke damage restoration covers emergency assessment, board-up and roof tarping, water removal and drying, soot and smoke cleanup, odor removal, and repairs and rebuilding, so one company handles the job from start to finish.
Can smoke and soot cause long-term damage?
Yes. Residue left on surfaces, building materials, and belongings keeps damaging them and lowers indoor air quality. We deep clean the residue, then use HEPA air filtration and ozone treatment to remove the lingering odor.
Mold Removal and Remediation
What are the signs of mold growth in a home?
Common signs include a musty odor, visible discoloration on surfaces, and higher indoor humidity. Mold also grows out of sight in areas that were never fully dried after a leak or flood.
Is mold dangerous to your health?
It can be. Mold lowers indoor air quality and can trigger allergic reactions, respiratory problems, headaches, and skin irritation.
What causes mold to grow in a home?
Mold needs moisture. Leaks nobody has noticed, past flooding, and condensation around HVAC systems, windows, and plumbing all supply it, especially in rooms with poor ventilation.
What does mold remediation include?
Our mold removal and remediation starts with an inspection using moisture meters and air sampling, followed by containment, removal and cleaning, structural drying, repairs, and final clearance testing to confirm the mold is gone.
Can mold return after removal?
Yes, if the moisture problem behind it isn’t fixed. That’s why we find and eliminate the moisture source along with removing the visible growth.
Should I use bleach to kill mold?
In most cases, no. Bleach can work on tile and other hard surfaces, but on drywall, wood, and other porous materials, it evaporates and leaves water behind, which can help the mold come back worse. For anything beyond a small spot on a hard surface, call a professional.
When should I call a mold professional?
Call us if mold is causing allergic reactions or other health problems, if it’s inside walls or carpeting, or if you suspect there’s more mold than you can see. We remove it without spreading spores and repair the areas affected by the removal.
Sewage, Biohazard, and Board-Ups
Is a sewage backup dangerous to my health?
Yes. Sewage carries bacteria, viruses, and toxic contaminants that can make people and pets seriously ill, so sewage cleanup should be handled by technicians trained for hazardous waste.
When should I call a professional for sewage damage?
Call us as soon as you notice wastewater around fixtures, foul smells, slow drains, several clogged drains at once, or sewage coming up through toilets or floor drains.
What biohazard cleanup services do you offer?
We clean up blood and body fluids, crime scenes and trauma, virus and bacteria contamination, hoarding, and sewage, and we remove the odors these situations leave behind. See our full biohazard cleanup services.
How do you dispose of biohazardous waste?
We follow OSHA and EPA guidelines, and once the waste leaves your property, we transport it to licensed hazardous medical waste incinerators.
When do you need board-up and roof tarp services?
You need them any time storm damage, fire, a break-in, or a leak leaves your roof, windows, or doors open to the weather or intruders. We secure the property until permanent repairs can be made, and we can also board up windows and doors before a major storm. Learn more about our board-ups and roof tarping.
Cleaning Services
How do you clean carpets?
We inspect and test your carpet to choose the most effective method, pre-treat stains and high-traffic areas, and then steam clean with truck-mounted equipment and a pH-balancing solution that leaves no residue. See our full carpet cleaning process.
Are your carpet cleaning solutions safe for pets and children?
Yes. Our eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning solutions are safe for children and pets, and our drying process keeps downtime short.
What are the benefits of air duct and dryer vent cleaning?
Clean air ducts improve indoor air quality, can ease allergy symptoms, and help your HVAC system run more efficiently. Clean dryer vents lower the risk of a dryer fire, shorten drying times, and help your dryer last longer.
What other cleaning services do you offer?
Along with carpet cleaning, we clean upholstery, tile and grout, air ducts and dryer vents, and mattresses, and we clean rugs off-site with free pickup and delivery.
